Days like this

I feel (sort of) empty,
sometimes.

Days like this seem to
d
  r
    i
      p
        down the page,
flutterby moments stuck in tree goo,
a minuscule blob of gold with an even smaller spider inside.

Moments like this seem to
PuLsE
    slower and slower,
a machine-read trace of life strung out on a line for all to see.

It's a little bit funny, don't you think,
how naked these costumed times feel?

Author notes

it's been a while since I've written anything, so I'm really rusty.
