the gum trees

Missing image

take my hand

and walk with me to the gum trees

standing in the sunlight

as strong and brave as the day the world was born

in the cradle of their shadow

where all the birds are laughing

we shall find comfort

in the sweetness of their breath

we shall be born anew

I like this very much. It has a freshness, like the eucalyptus itself, and like that childlike but original piece of art.

wonderful poem with a sense of peace and love. Beneath the shade of the gums, that would be wonderful with the glorious smell of the eucalptas just wafting in the air. Yes, and the birds laughing in their shadows. I can see them now. I have a great flowering gum in my yard and there are honey suckers all over it, chatting away. You certainly painted a great picture that is so easy to see, and the sense of peace was really portrayed in your words. Great job.

I've never been to the latitudes where the thickets of Eucalyptus grow but I can imagine they must be lovely and fregrant beyond poetry!

This is a lovely poem with a warm, intimate address. It took me to the trees, thank you. The art work looked like Klee. Nice.
