A shadow
drifting away
into nothingness,
quickly forgotten,
a fast blur
on the landscape of time.
Just a silhouette
dancing alone
in an already dark spot,
sometimes blending in
other times standing out,
but still
…vanishing.
Maybe
imprinting on a mind,
briefly
….or maybe not noticed at all
insignificant.
Do shadows even exist,
if they are not seen?

9.23.08 - Lonliness, depression.....
guess just thoughts on the feelings we all get sometimes - like we are just shadows that no-one really notices - and then we're gone, and not remembered......depressing thoughts....lol

perhaps the shadows do exist.. I think so.. but I also think that we have trained ourselves "not to see" them.. when feeling depressed at least for me, I see them more.. I do understand what you are saying as well. Your poem is excellent ... You bring up some very interesting thoughts here. very deep & very thought provoking ones at that.

Thanks kat - I think we all feel like 'shadows' at times (especially when we are depressed) - so yes, shadows do exist I think. Lots of deep thought in this...lol

Very depressing thoughts hunni! But beautifully done. I do like the question at the end, certainly gives you something to think about. Bit like the one about a tree falling, does it make a sound if no one is there to hear it. Meh confuses me..lol. Superbly penned

I got the feeling that this had hidden agenda...rather than shadows, more a feeling of isolation/invisibility. The background was clever...
No-body is invisible..we all have self worth
