Rejoice

Earth has spun
its elliptical path;
stars have sung
the years passed.

Woven lengths
shades of light
are blessings, gifts
signs of delight.

Shadows flow
through twine and course
marking obstacles
contrary forces
materials used  to train
teach the way of the spirit
in life’s folded path.

Those who know
this spirit’s shine,
felt its shimmer
show its relationship
with the divine,
use the passing
of this planet’s year
to mark for celebration
one who we all hold dear.

Through trite from being
often said, used without
meaning being clear,
I raise my heart’s light
in toast to celebrate

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WANDA

This is a really uplifting poem, that stopped me dead in my tracks, and got rid of the mid week blues. Its the kind of poem that reminds you to celebrate what you have thanks for sharing littlefishone

It is a gift to have friends in this world. It is what sanity is truly about, being able to celebrate and share with those around us. Thanks for enjoying this and letting me know it touched you.
      Love, Tom B.

That says it for me....the ability of a poet to pen the affects on the heart...joy, sorrow, peace, war, and combine them jsut so...so that we get a rudned knowing of what makes the poet a poet.... Well done, poet.

Indeed, they are, my observant Friend. I have seen many moons pass & many suns rise (although there's really only one of each) ~ I am still impressed, amazed, intrigued, curious, anticipatory, ready to accept & admire the coming moments. I have had a wonderful life, in many ways. The other times, I choose to acknowledge, then release them into the ether. Each day is a new chance, a fresh opportunity to do some good, somehow, somewhere. Thank you for writing this lovely birthday tribute for me & also, for your consistent support & luminous thoughts projected outward, Sweetie. Good luck in Carol's contest.

My gift is simple and you have shared the smile it blessed you with. What more can be than this across this virtual landscape. May the blessings of thanks always rise in the tidal basin of your soul.

      Love, Tom B.

This is so joyful and lyrically written. It flowed like the calming waves of an ocean as the sun rises.

    Lovely Dedication!

Just wanted a way to let a lovely human being know I wanted her to have a Happy Birthday that had nothing to do with age.
      Love, Tom B.
