Silence

Missing image
In a world struck in silence
suns deceit bathes blue sky
radioactive fallout’s offence
the children are first to die.

No squeak from the swings
no birds sing their song
silent are the simple things
in a world all gone wrong.

This still life image taken
reflects a still life world
one that God has forsaken
in prophecy’s unfurled.

"In a world struck in silence

That is one seriously bold opening stanza, very stark but amazing. You've already got my attention, which is a great start

There is one thing I would change. "that God's" to "where God is" in the last stanza. That's for flow. However if I've read that wrong, ignore that part of my comment lol.
Great work and thank you for the entry!

Been watching documentaries of Love Canal? This was grim. You certainly provided the reader with something to think about with this one.
