Cold Fire

Missing image

~~~~~
The sun has finally burned
through the gray wooly clouds
and the fog is melting
into bright puddles of orange and gold
But I sit here in the glow
with my mind numb to the fire
and my hands frozen in place
on this cold lonely day
I wish I could taste the flavor
of her red scalding desires
burning my lips
with just a hint of her fire
But I sit here alone
watching the glittering gold
with tears frozen on my face
and my dreams dying
in scattered embers
    This has a lot of underlying emotions tucked inside all of that longing and color...a definite sense of yearning...which seems to be particular unto women!
    A sense of yearning that is beautifully described in your third stanza! I felt the chill of aloneness reading this.. so very sad to have one's dreams scattered! An excellent write for the picture!
    (I think the "of" in the second line is perhaps not meant to be there..?)
    Thank you for the entry!
    the picture really is about colors isn't it..? the color of a mood, of a moment of the tail end of fall -of the loneliness that envelopes us all at one point or another..
    you've captured the color of this picture beautifully
