Sadie Hawkins

What’s the message this time?
Deal me another day
and I’ll play cards with you.
Death is less about danger
and more about age than you think.
You and I know something about fear
you almost died at 15 on a RR crossing.
I almost died at 18 in a missile silo.
Life is a special mountain on the glowing path.
Live it up kid, live it up!
If you ask me I will live it up with you.

Please tell me what you think

I can't understand why you have no comments on this poem but then, I have several that sit in a lonely state waiting for attention.

Your words are crystal clear! Your "message" is aimed at the fearless; those of us who think we are invincible, us who have yet to witness longevity...

I think this is exactly what we do; "live it up!"

"you almost died at 15 on a RR crossing.
I almost died at 18 in a missile silo."

I almost died at 14, in a car racing 95 mph. I cringe at the thought now. I have little boundaries now, older I guess. lol

My mom and dad know more about the title of your poem than I do but their stories make me smile at the thought. I don't know that we had dances like when I was a kid.

    Great poetry!
