Let’s go down where water hums,
down where fronds are fanned,
by whispered deep rush of red-stained S
curling around bend shaped like a woman’s knee.
Come, we will baptize ourselves
by stepping off white sand;
immerse ourselves in slick lick of liquid Lord
moving heaven and earth to own us.
Look how willows reach down and ache
for caress, or being carried away,
from where we are all rooted and wrung dry
by summer’s dry breath.
There, see shade surrender beneath great poplar cowl
where we can brace our backs against an old Mother’s bark
and look up, through the lacy veil of leaves,
to know God’s sigh.
How beloved we are, Sister, when our sorrows slip
from trembling lips and channels down cheeks,
strained of color, to pool at our breasts,
next to the very heart of the matter ~
we long for licorice nights, when Moon
spills her love like a lantern on a far shore;
beckons like a beacon on a rocking buoy,
strobes like a star about to sputter out,
and leaves us alone and holding each other
as if we were the last ones alive
who really care about crucifixions of every kind.

Your talent with your pen
never ceases to amaze me, you not only have a wonderful vocabulary but seem to find unique words that are not difficult for the reader to comprehend while reading. Personally I think that takes a skilled writer to accomplish what you are very gifted at doing.
This was a wonderful poem to a lovely lady and was very worthy the gold, congrats, I enjoyed the read.

This beauty of this makes me weep. The PLACE is so vivid, spiritual, and real. You articulate the intangibility of kinship so tangibly, allowing the reader to feel connection with another's sorrows and joys. A truly phenomenal piece.

I stand amazed. Language flows like a conversation yet holds images and feelings that stun the reader, leave me drunk with meaning and with tears from the tenderness. Awesome.
Love, Tom B.

this is a masterpiece
gently surrendering all fear
caressed by nature
the sense fluidity
melting into the earth
embraced with peace by her love

This is simply beautiful. The last stanza is my favorite.
