Avarice of Death

Thoughts of death are simple
If only you ever knew
The anguish
Despair
Words we think of as overused
Those that use them stigmatized
Forever as dramatic characters
Seeking something but
What it is can't be found
Ever elusive in the swarms of people
Loving and hating you at the same time
Though they'll never admit to you which and
They constantly avoid your eyes
Hesitant always to tell you the truth
Or perhaps no
Waiting for something to change but
When it does you cry
Your heart doesn't function
In the same manner as before
You think the walls are crashing in
But then you look and realize
That there are no walls
There never were
Nothing keeping you out or in
Only your own limitations
Your inabilities
Your weakness
You can't find a way out
No running no hiding no escape
Except the one
That I sometimes think about
But can't condone.

THis was wonderful and it really hooked me.
    My favorite part was:
Ever elusive in the swarms of people
Loving and hating you at the same time
Though they'll never admit to you which and
    They constantly avoid your eyes
Hesitant always to tell you the truth

    I sometimes fell that way.
    Rad poem.
