Born under the sign of the mountain goat
I’m ever one to seize life by its throat.
I push ahead, never mind the rocks,
Not caring if opportunity knocks.
If it does not, then I will build a door;
A new means of egress to something more.
It may, at times, seem a wild ride
But, I will keep you safe at my side.
Loyal, I will defend you to the end.
You have become my closet, dearest friend.
Perhaps an overly ambitious plan;
Yet, some day I hope to hold your soft hand.

The prompt was Capricorn. Capricorns tend to appear as risk takers, walking on the edge, but actually are careful planners. They are ambitious, tenacious, and do not recognize obstacles. They are also romantic.
In early European astrology texts, Capricorn was represented as an Ibex, a form of mountain goat.
