wake up.
(theres something
i think you need to see)
ride with the debris down
(dry, opened eyes, sting)
push past the seats,
and screams
the turbine spins wildly
for you
smile gently
watch the light refract
through waves of fuel
they race each other
through plastic cups,
and peanut bags.
see how their expressions freeze
reflections in a broken wing
smile gently
rain against a cloudless sky
the grim misfortune
showers dried fear to life
(a small suitcase creates
a crater in the front yard.
no one realizes why)
how does the ground look
through the blades
spinning ever more slowly?
how quickly does your shadow
grow?
please make note
(its beautiful)

Okay. I thought this was about one thing, then I thought it was about something else. Either way, it is incredibly impacting. I loved it immensely. My favorite stanza is the one about the suitcase and the crater.
Incredible.
Write on.
