To be anywhere but here
Silence evoked in apprehension
Quiet wafts of white clouds wisp-ing above in contention
She sighed softly thinking of love
In these last moments
She smiled her soft smile in the wind
Velvet and satin, graceful and grim
And her hair enveloped the moon
Rubies glowing on a silver ray of light
In these last shivering moments of the night
Mourning the lost
And mourning the dawn
When the swans would fly her away
To a place by the sea
Where she was free to be
But could it just wait one more day?
Neigh
This fate would naught abate
Though heart and mind in silent debate
Cast in moonlit shadow
Lost in the knowledge it not matters
Now was just too late
Much she would give
For one more day
Just another dawn
In these last moments
Slivers of time
All too swiftly away already gone
And with the call of a swan
She vanished into the dawn light
And the quiet wafts of white clouds wisped above in contemplation
Knowing
She had sighed softly thinking of love
In her last moments
