Just finished watching an old flick,
a black and white detective story,
a web of love so very tangled,
and the cops were in all their glory.
Beer in my right hand,
and a cigarette in my mouth,
there’s no lady here,
to touch me down south.
That was my choice today,
as I cancelled a diner date,
it seemed like the right choice,
this time for me, at any rate.
I wrapped myself in music,
for the better part of today,
in the creation of the lyrics,
I got lost in all times way.
Editing studio is tiring,
so intricate in detail,
my mind is on the blink
I’m feeling kind of frail.
Sleep comes so easy,
to a mind that’s all worked out,
there was never the question,
of what this life is all about.
Burning the midnight oil,
cause I really never stop,
I figure it’s the only way,
that one can make it to the top.
Though I have not concerns,
regardless of my position,
the hours fly away so fast,
I can feel it in transition.

Very cool song lyrics, or rather I think they would make a great song. Thanks for entering my contest, I enjoyed the read.

hahaha
"there's no lady here, to touch me down south." Maybe we should start a club, a sad club.
Very good and best wishes in the contest.

good write
Not so sure that making it to the top is all is made out to be but certainly having direction is a good thing, enjoyed the read.
