Gravel Roads

Phone,
Rings.
Pressing,
Ignore.

Two girls,
Not in love.
No happiness,
Just fake smiles.

Months of being,
Together.
Months of being,
Unhappy.

One feels,
Pain.
Another feels,
Depression.

Society,
Demanding.
Parents,
Commanding.

Phone,
Rings.
Girls,
Scream.

Two girls,
Were in love.
Fake happiness,
Pretending to be.

Promise ring,
Given.
Promise ring,
Taken.

Words,
Spoken.
Thoughts,
Unsaid.

Truths,
Told.
Lies,
Unfold.

Hanging up,
Voices ended.
Hanging up,
But not on.

Friends that,
Care.
Tears I cannot,
Bear.

Holding her,
Tight.
Not letting her,
Out of my sight.

She still,
Loves.
She still,
Cares.

Black outs,
Rage more.
Quiet nights,
Cry more.

Promising,
Not to hurt friends.
Breaking that promise,
Hurts her as much.

Bruises,
Bites.
Scratch marks,
And fights.

Street lamps,
Shine.
Broken hearts,
Intertwine.

Gravel,
Roads.
Dark,
Skies.

Back roads,
At night.
Risking my life,
Making sure she’s alright.

Alone together,
We’re best friends.
With company,
We’re complete strangers.

I’ll always,
Love.
I’ll always,
care.

You mean the world,
To me.
Please don’t do,
Anything stupid.

Phone,
Rings.
Pressing,
Answer.
