the lace slips from the facade.
and falls onto a world so dark below.
bathing the earth in smooth light.
basking its radiance into lightless corners.
it is the moon.
soft on your eyes.
its beauty you can see.
now harsh bright lights.
just a white glow to show you the path.
i watch you as you walk.
elegant. reflecting the white illuminance.
more beauty than any human.
an angel past the soft skin.
to the core. running deep.
but never would i see you this way.
were it the harsh yellow light on you skin.
the moon accentuates your beauty.
and you reflect it upon my eyes.
so i will fly up to the moon.
and ask it to stay ever so still.
ask it to illuminate our world with endless beauty.
this moon shall be our nightlight forever more.
