Field flowers
and buttercup petals
bring my sunshine.
I remember summer sun smiles,
tender laughter,
rainstorm runs,
and swing set glides
just for fun.
Your eyes were the sky
and your smile the gleam of freedom.
I miss you
when it rains,
and with December snowflakes
falling on my skin,
melting as I did with you.
I am richer for love shared
though wings carried you beyond the moon -
places I could not go,
and
your memory lingers.
I still smell your embrace
if sit quietly
and listen to the wind.
