Standing on the beach, sand betwixt my toes,
smell of salty air, feel from mist of sea waters.
Gazing out into the eternal horizon searching,
observing rays of the sun setting in the west.
Stepping along, the water rushing up onto my
feet, leaving prints behind in the wet mud.
I make my way further up, where the tide can't
reach me, sit and keep vigil for stars in the sky.
Surrounded by shells that I pluck from the sand
to select a few, collect them to bring with me.
Offering back to Mother Nature as required to,
laying down crushed leaves from back home.
Finally darkness has fallen over me and I can
gaze upon the brilliant, beaming stars above.
And the very first one I discover, glistening
in the heavens, make a wish, hope it comes true.
Getting back up to stroll along the shore a final
time before departing this moisture filled place.
Making my last strides, slowly along the wet
sand with the surf washing upon my steps.
Take one more glimpse into the sky above at the
stars shining down, I leave content and with a beaming appearance.

Some of this poem is from experience, but some is just from my imagination. Enjoy though!
