From Masks to Cells

People have changed
They've walked through my vision
Thus far in masks

They've hidden their true identity
Until now
Now! When I'm trapped and can't break free
From this cell
Made up of bars of honesty
Unknowingly constructed by them through trickery

Why did they show me masks?
Why can't anyone show themselves?
So that I could've avoided such a darkness

Perhaps, they never wore masks
Maybe I was too blind to see their faces
Or I was wearing a mask
A mask to blend
For a purpose of mere complacency

I am the maker of my own cell
Which is the only truth I see

Please tell me what you think

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

    Amazing

Wow, this was great. The message was conveyed perfectly. I love the second to last part. Or I was wearing a mask, A mask to blend, For a purpose of mere complacency. This was great, amazing imagery and perfect flow. You have a lot of talent. Excellent write and an enjoyable read.
