a stained glass world
could be ours
if love was shared
each and every hour
spectrum of colors
vibrant and pure
reflecting compassion
for those far and near
helping the needy
by deed, not just word
sharing resources
thanksgiving is heard
A stained glass sunrise
could bless our vision
when living by love
becomes our decision

Contest quote: By Helen Steiner Rice
Great is the power of might and mind
But only love can make us kind
And all we are and hope to be
Is empty pride and vanilty
And if love is not a part of all
The greatest man is very small

Very beautiful poem, like the stained glass images as the rays of love shine forth. Oh, I miss having stained glass in my present church, I love the scenes and how pretty it looks. And your poem is beautiful too, shining forth His love.

You have brought compassion and hope into the fantasia of the picture, the last stanza could be a voice to the world. If only we could.

Bravo!
of a trophy. The glass through which we view our world truly colors our vision! Lovely flow, content & rhyme. This poem compliments the pix so beautifully!
I love the way you end this piece:
A stained glass sunrise
could bless our vision
when living by love
becomes our decision
Fine way for me to end up my day!

when guided by love and the love controls, peace from another is the feelings we will hold...I love the simply flow and the melody within, a beautiful song of love for the heart my dear Brother Gray Elk

Yes, a very thoughtful poem of what we can do, if united in love to help those around us. A glorious poem filled with loving thoughts.
