The squirrel collects
his store for coming winter,
the world's ruled by nuts.
Autumn breezes blow
thrush sings a requiem
a murder of crows.

The first, could be just fun humor, or it could indeed mean more. The squirrel could be the Satirist, his store could be his writing medium and the nuts his subject...and by subject I meant the same as you did.

The second, I'm reminded of Walter Mitty, the character in the Thurber story. He has big dreams of himself, his life...that little thrush thinks big, it's a Tragedian for sure.
Now, how far off was I?
Thanks!

Lol... your first one is especially funny
Two good ones and I wish you good luck in the contest

I can't help but sense a political message in undertones of humorous verse here.
Well, not so humorous,if wide eyed awake to current world events maybe.Yet talk about your truth that hurts! Fabulous Haiku humor

What a contrast. You have cuteness contrasted with the insanity of the world. You have the beauty of autumn contrasted with murder.
Such is the world. God's creation untouched by man is beautiful and in harmony.
Man because he has rejected God and lives with sin, destroys himself, others and the beauty around him.
Once again, I admire your talent.
