My friend I know you're weary and find it hard to smile
Although your shoes are heavy, come walk with me a while
Just put your hand in my hand, I'll lead you to the light
Where wings of love will hover and lift you from the night.
We'll climb the highest mountain to breathe the cool crisp air
As hope and love surround you, you'll know I'm always there
I'm standing here beside you to lean on as you go
A silhouette of sunlight to give a inner glow.
The view is so breathtaking and you can see for miles
A picture of the future, a radiance of smiles
You'll stand and look around you, at last my friend you'll see
The light of love surrounds you and yes my friend, it's me.

Brilliant!
"The light of love surrounds you and yes my friend, it's me." You have highlighted the urgent need of our world today. Your poem reflects love, compassion, belonging understanding. That's the element lacking in our world societies. Instead we find distrust, hatred and compartmentalization. The results we see are disruption, war and poverty.
