    excellent

    Excellent haiku sis....
I see by the shadow it's getting close to nightfall...or sundown perhaps...you and the crab alone on the beach sounds so tranquil and relaxing...
Love this for the last haiku you wrote for the summer
    Hugs
    Your sis

Summer haiku? You obviously didn't spend your summer in Belgium cause we never really had one over here as far as I remember (or I was too much busy feeling sorry for myself, but I really can't recall that much bloody hot, steaming days)

And where did you see that crab? The only ones I see when walking at the shore are dead one - most of them shattered into peaces probably from the gulls...

i'm jealous, i can never make haiku's carry any sort of emotion, i don't know how you squeeze so much in so few words, well done!

This is gentle, serene, a small picture of a delightful day. Very effective observational poetry. I'm a bit surprised that "crab" which is a harsh sounding syllable does not interrupt the lovely tone of this piece. Nice. Geo

    Mi querida hija,

    at the beach
    lunch in sunshine
    fish and chips

Was the crab boiled or grilled? Hope you had a nice day.
did you wear your Ipanema see-through bikini?
Applause, Love and hugz, XOXOXO el padre.

Gosh, I wish I could be near the beach all the time. Whatever the weather. I have some gorgeous rolling hills and the mountains are close, though.

    As for the poem....

"looking for a shadow" really struck me. As if you are fondly anticipating a sign for the beginning of nightfall. I really liked that implication. And as I read it, in lieu of the title "warm"... it is impending. Warm, is not "hot", so the timing of the poem is not at full sun... so the poem's searching seems to soon be able to find fruition. Subtle, and hopeful. Very nicely done.

Ah warmth! The weather here is nice, very sunny, blue sky, no clouds, but not Summer warm. I have few days off starting next week, may I visit you IF you get your pool done by then? I bring you Belgian chocolates

Great! Add some Belgian beer too! Oh boy, I would never come back. Know anyone who needs a cook there?
Am actually going to Moscow, well that is the plan anyway. Think will be vodka instead of wine...a 'wasted' vacation lol

    Sand, beach, warmth...
    hang on with the words.
    Save summer, Mariza,
    for it's moving faster
    than the crab!

    A warm delight!

Wow, this is good! At first, yes, I saw sadness. I guess I go there first, but then reality dawned and I remembered there is sun at the beach.

See, someone once said I was a crab because I tend to hide within myself so naturally I thought of me first.

It's odd that people paint pictures of summer scenes during the summer. It seems like the best time to write summer haiku is in the winter...when we long for it most...so see, you summer haiku are just beginning.

Should have saved it, my haiku contest will be up shortly.

I grew up near a beach and spent many days looking under rocks for crabs, baby crabs, this image evokes nostalgia in me and makes me remember some good times.
