Listen to the whisper of the breeze among the dunes
as we sit upon the softest, whitest sand,
the grasses sigh while singing to the quietest of tunes
and the shadows play as darkness covers land.
You put your arms around me as we share uncertain dreams
and we watch the sunset grace the evening sky,
we’re lost in thought completely while we’re kissed by silver beams
as the day is done the earth gives out a sigh.
The gulls that wheel above our heads return to land once more
riding high upon the currents of warm air,
the cool waves gently lapping as we lay upon the shore
and I feel the warmth of kisses on my hair.
We hold each other tightly as unspoken words are lost
and our kisses fan the flames of true loves fire,
we make love ’neath the moon as all our inhibitions tossed
and passions burn us up with our desire.
The stars provide a cover that is dark and inky black
as they sprinkle us with all their magic powers,
and when we’re far apart we’ll have a smile as we think back
while we wish upon the star we named as ours.
