An Enemy Forgiven

I must forgive my enemies
once, twice and more,
even without their repentance
forgiveness is in store.

After the fourth trespass
my enemy is put to shame,
forgiveness will not stand
and the Lord will know his name.

Forgiveness can return
if my enemy then repents,
it says this in the scriptures
and it is common sense.

If my enemy doesn't repent
it would be a sad day,
the Lord will avenge me
of my enemy in some way.

I like the faith that shines through this piece, an excellent take on the option you chose, and I enjoyed reading this. Your poem has a wonderfully thought out feel to it, I like the rhythm and sound of your rhyme, when read aloud there's a brilliant sound. Thank you so much for sharing this, and taking the time to enter my contest,

    Luck.
