Discovering Darkness

She asked be about shadows:
what did it mean when
the light ran out? When the sun
sets and night falls is it
not, but the earth in shadows
stronger than star light?

Darkness is blessing to drink
when we thirst for shade.
Shadows can be sown in to purses
where we hide everything
that makes us feel ashamed.

When you love me,
I feel all bright. Shades of colors
circle around me. Autumnal,
I feel the shadow of winters to come;
Dancing butterfly, I can hear
all the way colors sing of life.

We became dancers in black and white.
Weaving streams of colors, shaded
darkened for memories out of sight,
bold and brightened for this moment
when we hold each other tight.

I was just studying shadows. Often we forget how all our play in the light creates a play of shadows about us. Glad you enjoyed.
      Love, Tom B.

You are really too kind. This is, but, a simple study of the interaction of shadows and light. That you find in my work things that enchant you is a wonderful compliment. I hope I may always rise to meet that expectation.
May the season bring joy and all you know and love be caught in the wonder, sharing the Light.
      Love,
      Tom B.

This was truly a colorful write. I've always tried to write and work in about colors and shadows; describe each one but at the same time make people realize that they go hand in hand. You did this perfectly and in a way that makes the reader think and remember. Very inspiring

But, 'tis nothing more than my very first study in the twist and turn of shadow in the spell of our hearts. I am glad you enjoyed my first attempt.

As though you became of the oneness
    of all surreal
    where within all shadows ever
something in there glares outwards as to entice you to that fatal point of never being able to recover all that you once were ...

This is but the first study of shadows. Who knows, maybe the next will study the evil's delight in working between the edges of light. Moo hah hah.

There would be no light without darkness. The two compliment one another and give the world balance. As a child I was fearful of shadows until my dad explained that they were mere reflections from light. He made them seem spiritual.

Your poem is beautiful and filled with so much, and so many lines that make me ponder the thought of light, darkness, and shadows...

    Much Love Always ♥

You were fortunate for many carry fears that shadows play to. I started this because of people who said they didn't understand what I meant by shadows in some of my poems, I.e. shadow cleaner. Also because as I thought about it I realized it was a rich vein of symbols, metaphors, connotations to investigate. Thanks for enjoy my study and for letting it tease you into deeper thoughts.
      Love,
      Tom B.

Yep, this is beautiful. I'm thinking too beautiful. I love the idea of the black and white with the colors against them. Really nice Tom.

I shall have to play with ashes and shadows and the cleaning of memories that steal the light. But, for another day. This was just my first study. I never knew you could make it too beautiful.

This is my first study in shadows. They create texture and they create darkness because of the way we block the sun. Glad you enjoyed my first look at these.

I felt the jubilliance, the unbridled joy, the last verse gift wraps the dance in the dark.

Love is the light that does not trespass into the dark.

    Bravo.

Shadows accent as well as hide. Joy is a gift that abides in both the darkness and the light.

    BREATH TAKING

The realness of your words touch this heart softly...from the darkness light does grow and love becomes everything. The colors dance, weaving streams of holding each other tight, softly making memories...just beautiful! Thank you my Master Poet for sharing your heart with us all
