What Dark Cupid Is This?-(a pre-write)

What demons drove him
to be a dark cupid,
on Valentines day, 2008,
at
NIU's Cole Hall.
Shooting arrows of lead,
into the flesh of those
who will never love again.
Four young girls and one guy,
plus the wounding of many others.
Shots tipped with hate,
on that day of love,
with many hearts broken,
and tears falling.
Not wings on his back
but a monkey, torturing him,
Many Mom's getting phone calls,
expecting to hear
their daughters and son's
wishes of love,
on February 14th,
but instead a strangers voice
tears out their very souls,
with love removed,
in an act of madness.
And then this dark cupid,
reserved his final shot
for himself, a cowardly exit.
Unable to face his deeds,
perhaps hoping for escape,
but the same demons that drove him
to multiple deaths,
drove him into hell's abyss
as he breathed his last.

Another tragic example of getting
a dead-u-cation in this
gun fed, violence loving
world that we must occupy.
Changes must be made.
stun guns issued to all teachers,
and used without hesitation.
something for God's sake.

Something before the next

five or twenty,
or 150 God forbid perish,
as there could have been
because that many were present
in Cole Hall on that day.

Something!! Please???
The next one is out there,
he's buying his guns,
biding his time,
selecting his victims,

BANG~~~BANG~~~~BANG!!

Gah. Sad. I wasn't expecting a dark sad write from YOU. But you did it well. I actually really enjoyed this poem in a sick twisted way. Welcome to the darkside Artis, we have cookies.

It's a very nice poem. I liked the way that you incorporated V-Day (love and be loved) in your poem and the "dead-u-cation" is very original.
And you also came with a solution; a nice touch.
The anxiety of a next shooting is felt deeply in your poem.

    Well done and good luck!
