It's amazing, the power of addiction.
Trust me I know, it's nothing your missing.
You lose everything, your family your friends.
People you love, you'd thought they'd be there till the end.
You turn your back on everyone, including your self,
and before you know it, there's no one there to help.
The physical and emotional, struggle you go through,
before you know it, your addiction has consumed you.
Now you've dug your self a hole, so deep you can't get out.
You've been this way so long, it's hard to turn around.
So your family steps in, if your lucky enough,
and they try to help you, give the drugs up.
Sometimes it works, and sometimes not so much
but try to be strong, and never give up.

I chose to write about the photo "addiction" The reason I chose this is because I've been there and I can relate.

An excellent write! It's like reading a piece of your soul. Although I've never had an addiction like drugs I have friends who are recovering addicts, and not enough emphasis can be placed on the importance of a support structure for those who have made the decision to step away from their addiction. Thank you for sharing this, and taking the time to enter my contest,
