I sit by the road
on the ridge at night.
Sense of hearing is strong;
no distraction, no light.
Heeee coming closer
is the sound that I hear.
Like sucking air for a sigh;
a lone semi speeds near.
Sound grows to a hummm
as you glide down the road.
Trailer follows like a coffin,
dashed hope is a heavy load.
Burrrr and your here.
You rumble the ground
you stir up the night.
I'm dazed by the sound.
Swoooshhh and your gone,
wind blows from the force.
You leave me behind
as you travel God's course.
Whoooo in the distance,
I strain to still hear.
Then it's just silent
like the roll of a tear.
So I sit by the road
on the ridge at night.
I imagine the sound of the semi
is like your spirit in flight.

i often say to myself i would love to see my son in any shape or form some how i dont think tis will happen but it dosent stop the heart from wanting another sad write heart broken mother

I can relate to this - our son is a semi driver and every semi that goes through our area is closely watched....lol....in case he gets up this way.
I like the wording and flow to this! Reads very nicely. Great images!

This is excellent. What a different way to express your emotions of such a trajedy. The imagery is excellent and the pain you could feel bleeding between the lines. I'm sorry about your son, so very sorry and I know how this feels.
