I have the gift of thought, of imagination,
and creation that go together with
the eloquence of expression.
I have an inner eye that allows me to see things
that no one else can.
I see fire in a snowstorm
and ice in a volcano.
I hear music in the wind.
I see a rainbow on a cloudy day.
I touch the people I meet in various ways.
I show them how to be angry, how to love,
and to hate. For this is who I am.
and creation that go together with
the eloquence of expression.
Author notes
You wanted to know the word I used It's poet. For that is what I am. All I did was look the word up in a dictionary and took it from there. Hope this is what you want. I kind of like it myself. The picture is of lord Bryon I found on the internet. I credit whoever put it there.

I don't why this is but this does have only 15 lines. I don't know why it keeps saying 19. I counted them myself.

very nice
You describe a poet very well. They see a different side of things sometimes. Poets write about things that others have trouble expressing. You are a poet! The Shaker

A beautiful description of a poet, my friend. I especially loved the first two lines in stanza three. The use of "oxymoron" there is great. Thanks for entering, and good luck!

Excellent description of a poet, but I would enjoy more rhythm and flow. It just seems dry to me.

The machinery (as all windows based software! Heehee) can't count. Fifteen delightful lines with a bit of a "but" for me. The final verse just doesn't have the harmony of the others but.....what would I know?

Nice way to express what a poet is. Poets do affect people in so many ways making them feel so many different emotions. My opinion is that if we don't make someone feel with our writing; we haven't done our job.
