eyes come to life and glisten.
From a flicker true love starts,
to heartbeat new lovers listen.
Warmth within, outward glow,
light within to stay on course.
A mighty river, love may flow,
fueled by an inner light source.
Emotions set in, fans the flame,
creating such burning desire.
Sometimes love is but a game,
we are burnt by the roaring fire.
Flames all too soon flicker, die,
love becomes cool and fades.
Embers stay long after goodbye,
as loneliness, darkness invade.

Excellent!
This is so true. Life can be difficult, And Love can be strong as ever. Until the darkness invades, and then we are left alone.
Keep up the Great Work.

A lone spark stirs the heart,
eyes come to life and glisten.

Nice first stanza to compell the reader to continue on. I read with mixed emotions of hope and sadness. A well written piece! Good luck in the contest! -

rhyme and flow moves the work slowly as lovers share emotion. The reader evokes images that warms the heart. This cools to become a desire lost as love dies in goodbye. Sadness lingers to accept the darkness in the heart.

Wonderful Comment My Friend
Hello Dan, Once again my dear friend reads and understands the emotions I write with. Letting go of beautiful memories is so hard to do sometimes even when it is best to do so. Some we shall hold forever. Thank you for the thoughtful comment. Hugs and Smiles to you.
Bless You And Yours,
Sandy
