And it is a disaster, yes such a disaster
I’ve tried to be master, she just went crying
to her pastor
In days past I’ve gone with sexier looking girls
She’s gone with better looking guys
Then down come the rains and we found each other
under dark skies
to fall in love for ever after we both desired
but then it turned into a disaster
Yes I think we’re now a disaster
Ten kids to feed on pasta, ten kids I can’t even master
I need love affairs for sure
I need love affairs for sure
Can’t you see, it’s the laundry, do you not see the
misery, you really must agree together we are a
disaster, yes we are such a disaster
I am the pain, she is a bitch to everyone
And now we’re stuck in limbo
I think it’s all a crazy disaster
It’s all a crazy disaster
I need love affairs for sure
I need love affairs for sure
Can’t you see, it’s the loads of dirty laundry
Do you not see the bloody misery, you really must agree
together we are a disaster, we are such a disaster
And if the whole world fell into a vicious hell
Just like me and my girl, this would be a disaster
This would be such a disaster
I need love affairs for sure
I need love affairs for sure
Just to be master and more
and like the pastor deplored
Thirtysix hours, and our love was set in stone
flyby love affair, so far, so far from home
than we went to the altar together, and forever after we
drifted into the bad weather
and we made our own disaster, we made our own disaster
Can’t you see, it’s the filthy laundry, do you not see
the stupid misery
I need love affairs for sure
I need love affairs for sure
And so together we are a disaster, we are such a mad
disaster. Can’t you see, it’s the daily laundry, do you
not see the undeniable misery, you really must agree
together we are a disaster, we are such a disaster
Together we are a disaster
Author notes
A twist on an old Fern Kinney song, "Together we are beautiful". The single ''Together We Are Beautiful'' was released in 1980, a disco song with a slow and sultry beat. The song reached #1 on the UK singles chart for a single week in March 1980. Here is the link to original song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cCeIEp2SHM&feature=related

This is a great song, and certainly belongs is the "country rock" mode of blues! Love the "pastor/master" repetition -- such a play on words. Great read as usual!

-
A never ending story nicely told in poetic form. I liked the dirty laundry that get filthier as the poem progresses
What a disaster! Liked the last verse "together we are a disaster" showing that they choose to be a disaster together in a silent agreement ...
