Just By Chance

You lived in my dreams,
Golden and rare,
An intangible disaster,
wrapped in latex and rock and roll.
Eyes locked across impossibility,
fantasy became reality,
silk sheets,
hot-air balloons, and bodyguards,

Last time I checked,
I had a normal life.
Two kids and a husband,
Mundane employment,
and daydreams.

Stuck in toilet stall,
tears streaming down my cheeks,
mascara clotting on wet eyelashes,
I remembered us.

Corsets cinching-
you unwrapped my laces,
and inhibitions
waited on your ferocity.
You brought me Closer,
I created my own pretty hate machine.

Back to mundanity,
I wait for the dreams to descend.
