The Most Beautiful Kind of Truth

Its all about the little things
those who appreciate life
You know the ones who are [always alone]
Your girlfriend has just left you
another man...
the bills arent paid
and you sit in your dark living room,
drinking your last beer.
your 15 year old daughter is
across town getting hot and heavy
with a 25 year old man,
And not only is she about to get
pregnant, this man has also been
diagnosed with AIDS.
[she dosent know that, and neither do you.]
you are just a quiet old man
comfortable in your peaceful oblivion.
the worst comes to those who least deserve it
and You sigh in relief,
in spite of all your troubles...
you are just happy to be alive

Whoa. I was listening to Fallen Angel by Sekond when I was reading this, and it just made it that much more intense. You certainly have a way of finding a dull spoon with which to carve out the reader's heart. You are an incredible poet.
    Write on.

this poem doesn't make sense to me- the ending clashes with the whole rest of it
    but that's just my opinion
