"Tis a day like no other" said Chippy to Sal
he knew she would go... for Sal was his gal
He’d planned a great venture into the unknown
a highway to freedom, a skaters paved throne
They waited and watched each car as it zoomed
not knowing the road was an ultimate doom
He’s ready to ride on his board cross the street
but Sally told Chippy “I’ll just use my feet”
So Chippy took off and weaved through the cars
he made his debut he captured his star
Now was Sals turn, so she readied to walk
but in a quick instance... snatched-up by a hawk

Waah! That's hilarious! I kept thinking she'd get run over by a car, but the way you ended it is completely unexpected and awesome! I think that in the first stanza though, it would be better if you put his words in quotes like you did with Sally's in the second stanza
