delicate
her heart played
like strings
in syncopated
breath she breathes
she rose slowly
like phoenix from
her ashes
came to cadence
standing at full attention
her eyes a symphony
written in any minor key
her heart pumped
only one beat away from me
cicadas sang a maracan rhythm
as the moon crashed down
behind the sun
red.
it was the only color you could see
but you saw it all
