First Lie

Oh,
Jesus!
do You remember walking with me
through the pregnant orchards
of Glenheath:
You, my Omnipresent Shadow,
shielding me against the glare
of the persistant summer sun;
keeping me from the sneaking snake?

Ah!
I remember when You called my name ...
that year when I turned four -
no more than a baby girl:
so very small
and easily forgiven
because of clear blue eyes;
a halo of golden hair;
and an angelic smile ...

I - innocent sweet child -
was telling my very first lie:
what juicy peach I picked
yelling:
"Snake!"
(unaware that the Snake
indeed  was there ...)

And there You stood:
calling my name with tenderness
and reprimanding me in Silence
You whispered without words:

"I am Truth"

The self-inflicted sorrow
shook me and  I tried
to regain the sweetness
of that happy baby child
but then You took my hand
and showed me the Light
of pureness and forgiveness
and turned my guilt to Sight

Yes,
in the orchards of Glenheath
I saw You
in that warning from Above:
On that summer day You endowed me
with Wisdom, Truth
and Love

    Splendid piece ...

    of verse. Lovingly drawn on a childhood experience with the Christ. I see that, though the memory is celebrated with sweetness and light, you learned a lesson from the Lord on this day. You met Him and knew.

    Even with a tilted halo,this is still a wonderful write. There is a simple grace about it that I find endearing. One can't help but smile.

    Very moving and touching words. Exceptional style and matter. Such times you had as felt in its essance. Your paradine of time is shown before me as I live that time of your life in clairvoyant visual style text, same style I use. : ) Very good.

    Oh, you bring tears to my eyes, shapeshifter and tigerlilly ... I so much wanted to share my very first confrontation with the blemished Soul and the Unblemished Truth, that I have submitted the poem without really editing ... Perhaps I must leave it like this ... naively groped from the far-away Awareness ...
