I'm sober still (Sonnet, Recovery)

Living in a Hell, of my own making,
despising myself, for all that I do.
Waking to the craving, the hands shaking,
needing a drink prior to meeting you.

Life put on hold, the mistress takes control,
her seductive ways, causing all such harm.
No love for myself, inside there's a hole,
I have been beguiled by her false charm.

Bottom of bottle stares back silently,
promising nothing but more strife and pain.
Finally beaten, I want to be free,
before this condition drives me insane.

Surrendering fully, give up my will,
letting God's love guide me, I'm sober still.

Love you Tory.

This is not at all what I intended for this prompt when I put fingers to keys,
however this is what showed up on the page, who am I to second guess my Heavenly muse.
