A seed was cast into fertile soil
and before long, a tree began to sprout.
Passerbys regarded this plant so tenderly
saying, "Look! A blessed plant of God!"
A seed was also cast into rocky soil
and,over many years,
a crooked stalk poked through the gravel.
Passerbys regarded this plant quite harshly
saying, "This plant is doomed! It mocks God's creation!"
Generations came and went
bringing with them devastating storms
and unforgiving winds
all of which eventually uprooted the 'blessed' tree.
Passerbys regarded this plant with woe,
"Look, a beautiful plant rose here
and was cast down in God's goodness."
While the 'doomed' plant grew stronger still.
"Well," the passerbys conceded
"there are other plants."
