Sunset Over The Irish Sea

Missing image

To know herself, she knew

she needed to learn her past,

her destiny still so far away

before she would meet them

at that distant Heaven's gate.

Yet, her spirit moved her...

... leading her onward,

as she leapt into the arms

of her bygone ancestors,

off the cliffs of the Irish Sea

as the sun sank over the

wounds of her tomorrow.

Wonderful. You made me long to see the green fields of Ireland just once before I die.

    Another thought provoking poem

"To know herself, she knew she needed to learn her past," Once again you've captured in verse something that's important to all of us. We're not complete unless we know where we came from, and what has shaped our gene pool from ancient times. Thank you for articulating what we all yearn for. Understanding ourselves.

    How dramatic.
It's nice, though, and very poetic.
    The picture is beautiful.
I like lines 8 and 9. Very sad, but very good and touching. Nice.

Could it be an innate beatitude that one seeks when they search back into history. The special signature of love and Hope. I wonder but these Irish eyes are smiling poet.
