Words poured like liquid fire
burning her in places
she never understood;
thoughts formed in womb
drifting upon nature's harmony
in twilight moments
and dark shadows,
nostalgia crept across music notes
sometimes loud and extreme
others soft gentle whispers,
often falling against stone walls
without thought or answers;
some danced in cabarets
where cornets blew
placate in her mind,
arbitrary savant was
what she often though,
as she corralled her wonderment;
resigning herself to the fact
that prophecy came and went
with the wind,
~allowing her no control,
only words that ran wild
through quill and ink
disappearing without warning.
Author notes
arbitray was used as arrogant in meaning
savant as artist

How true. I love the way you structured
this piece. The images and intent of
the poem are very thought provoking
and powerful. Words come easy and are
as fleeting as a enthralling spring breeze.

You create such beauty and sadness in these words, I am left to reflect on all these feelings and thoughts. I love that kind of poem. Best to you in the contest

poetry is a song that breaths with the magic of words such as it is with a silent strum to the heartfelt reader to which it bcomes their very own...i feel i feel and ponder

-
this reminded me of a life cycle of poetry... its birth, life and a death that someetimes puts more meaning to the words...
