YOU ARE
I stood there just watching you.
feeling the hurt and confusion
just rolling off of you.
I wanted to spare you this pain but
I fear that a simple touch
a soft spoken word,
a gesture of kindness,
anything
might break you
so I stood back
watching you
as you lie there in pain.
It was then that I realized
that your strength
doesn’t come from swords,
money, or words
but from an inner strength.
I have come to believe
that you merely are you…
and that in itself is its best defense.
And I…
I stand here
humbled by what you are.

your words speak much truth on friendship and the empowered strength to help and guide in times of hope and need. sometimes we have to give our friends a bit of space to work through things on their own no matter how painful it tears us up inside. I know I have some friends that i care so much for that when they hurt I hurt with them and my tears flow in magnitudes. they all give me so much joy. your friend should cherish the love you have for them. Thank you for sharing in my celebration of friendship and many blessings always xxx
