Seeking answers to endurance.

I gently inquired;

What blooms within the meadows

of our heart and mind, Father.

I see more then enough

mountains to climb,

and abundant fields

of corn and wheat .

Is it only for some…and not.....everyone.

Are our tears simply wept to nourish

hunger, power, lust and greed.

Is that why we are separated

by oceans of vast need.

Will there never be…

another Martin Luther King..

Or Mother Teresa to ease the suffering.

Peace….and your... spoken love…

Father?

Is it only for some….and not.... everyone.

I gently inquired, seeking the answers

to endurance.

This humble answer I received:

What the World needs now

Author notes

Contest prompt: Endurance....now that was a prompt!

(almost bawled this one out..after being reminded of the music video and what
was historically happening at the time that song came out...
the death of JFK, Martin Luther King, and Bobby Kennedy, the march of freedom,
I sure hope we have strong heroes who are not too afraid to
give us back our voices of hope, courage, and love....

i guess it is the ingredients to: Endurance!

Such a heart wrenching poem! It speaks so much truth and asks such important questions. The problem today is the huge corporations that control the world economy. Its not about what is morally right. Its about the all mighty dollar! Corporations are bigger and more powerful than countries so are not held accountable for their actions. I could go on for ever but will now shut up. This is an excellent poem my friend!

    The qhestions we all ask...

alas, everytime a good guy comes along we have to get rid of him...your poem is an excellent and extremely brave comment, you've got my hand, and my support...I was in Dallas on the night of 22/11/63, and I saw JFK go down...it was a dream...nobody would believe me the next day, when it happened...Bobby too...anyway, we are indeed, "Looking for a Leader" Neil Young "Living with War" I pray we don't crucify him again...your poem evokes tears; some from the heart, and some from sheer frustration...thank's for sharing Kathleen... John

Dearest Poetess, I hear the colour of your choice and the timbre within your voice, I have felt the same way too, all the words, prayers and poems and still there is an imbalance owing between right and oh, so wrong, indeed what the world needs now, is love, sweet love, we've had just about as much as we can take of seeking answers from above, men and their machinations, the sadness, madness and abominations, and the world weeps whilst so many souls are at panic stations. Everyone is being starved of something, the starving, the oppressed, the abused, those depressed, we need another Martin Luther King more than any other thing.
    Amen.

this was absolutely breathtakingly sad and full of emotion. it was very heartfelt and i think it speaks of the saddness so many have to live with, with all that is going on in our world these days.

the feeling of hope is there, but i still wonder...when?

    beautiful work, my loving fairy

where have all the messiahs gone, the masses reaching for something.... someone to lead the way, while all who lead go in pointless directions, as the world toils and starves under complete lack of direction from thier own and other leaders.

Who decides what stack of dead babies gets piled up in what third world country. Is there not a man nor woman among us to sacrifice all creature comforts and step up to the puninshing position of messiah, and take on the pious and greedy, and wring money and sustenance from thier sweaty palms with just words.
meanwhile all over the world innocence dies, unfed, uncared for, uneeded, their cries heard in the sad wail of trains at midnight, the soft coos of mourning doves, and the mewling of abandoned baby kittens in a winter storm. Loved and hated this poem, it pounds what's real right into one's well fed guts.~~Artis

Powerful write here. If only there was another as Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King. They helped so many in their lifetime, sad that King's life was cut short. So many people are suffering due to lack of food, housing. Loved the line "I see more than enough mountains to climb". Maybe we all need to climb a few more to see how we can help another.
