My Friend

You knew me long before
I even knew myself.
And, dared to call me friend
when I had little more to offer
than my lowly, naked self.

Together, we discovered life,
and etched our faded page.
No, there was never any clue,
that quietly, you would become,
the treasure of my youth.

At fate’s hand, we parted ways
and led our separate lives.
But, soon my soul began to ache,
and would not be put to rest,
‘til at last, I found my friend.

Now, there is such pure delight
just in the presence of your name.
For it is now, that I know,
this feeling comes from deep within,
the most humble part of me, my friend.

well done as I know well the feeling of having such incredible friendships of a true bond and then having a parting of ways it tears a hole deep within the soul and it takes time to tear down the walls taht had been built over the times lost. Cherish! the refound moments as they in the end make the friendship all the stronger as it is planted once again in the heart and regrows. Thank you for sharing in the celebration of friendship and many blessings always xxx
