Her dark eyes,
like a museum,
held together the artifacts of her past life
the truth could not be told.
She stared at him
too afraid to reveal
the stories that painted her past
her eyes,filled with shame
forced themselves to look him in the eyes
as she hid the raw expression of her eyes
beneath the sequined veil.
Her heart raced at the memories
that filled her mind,
how she,the queen of integrity
had once upon a time
laid down her royal garments
and walked bare feet in the ashes of immorality.
Her black lips,
a carbon copy of the shade she wore
when she ,skin clad
would dance around the iron pole
and entice innocent hearts of men
that would,in the near future
resurrect passsions and desires
that became the catalyst
in the so called broken homes.
She remembered
the prince who had hurled her upon his carriage
and with that rose
her heart was led to lands
of unending bliss.
She watched him
her eyes filled with experiences
that would hurt his once broken heart.
Her secrets,
like buried treasures
lay buried deep within the dark places of her heart
and she tried each night, he held her
to erase these memories with his touch
and yet,her greatest enemy , her conscience
knocked upon the door of her heart
snapping her back in time,
and as she fought with it
guilt threatened to drown her
and finally,like a fragile soul
she surrendered
and her lips, like music
relayed to him the hidden secrets of her heart
as she through, veiled eyes
hid the tears and shame that the truth brought on
she watched him,
The only one who had loved her enough to stay
and when she was done,
he took the rose ,tears and veil
and in love,
buried them beneath the cold, dark earth
She was his, again.
