Tonight was the night who knows how it will end.
The lady I wished to be with, I feel is beyond my dreams.
From the back of her dress, The price would leave me broke.
The hair is a style of high fashion dreams.
Just to have one dance would complete my dreams.
The dinner I was given tickets for at Five hundred a seat.
The flowers I see upon her should as she sniffs it so.
Her shoes look like glass slippers that caress her feet.
Oops! I just missed the chance for a dance with her.
Just to have one dance would complete my dreams
The shimmer she causes from the dress, crossing the floor
The music as it plays linger in my head.
Oh another chance, and I missed it too.
The wall flower is me tonight it seem, and yet
Just to have one dance would complete my dreams.
It is getting very late, I must think about going.
There she is one more time, I'll ask before going.
"Hi I said, how nice you look, Joy! I know you!"
A friend far from my past, She gave me a black eye.
"Can we dance, if I promise not to sit in your seat"

The end was a hoot! The poem in itself shares with the reader the bliss one feels when totally enamoured by someone. We look in awe at those who truly may not be best suited for us. This is beautiful. The best to you my dear!
Always ♥
