Fighting isn't so easy when the wind's not at your back,
thinking it's impossible it surely becomes fact.
Trudging through the rain and sleet,
a moment here is gone, an insignificant feat.
Pushing, dragging through the sand
all I have and all I can.
I'm not some super human masterpiece,
I'm just another name on some crease.
A moment spent doing what I believe
leaves hearts broken for people deceived.
Thinking I will return when I will not,
God this place is so damn hot...
Who am I but just another man?
Trying to make a difference however I can.
Risking life and limb so you can see,
that your liberty is not free.
Your rights are writ in soldiers blood,
cold as ice and thick as mud.
We fight for you and everyone,
so you have rights and liberties, son.
So don't give us shit or make believe
that what we do is not in need.
We protect our borders and this land
from countries of snow and sand
so you can sit at home
while we die all alone.
So don't give us crap about what we do
because we are the reason you can be you.
We fight in places other dare not trend.
We're the Army,
the Navy,
the Marines,
the Air Force,
the Coast Guard,
AMEN.
