Would someone wish to plough through mountains
wrangle warrior creatures punch by punch?
How indignant are your queries, when you ask;
as if the work before me was a chosen task.
Stumped on times without numbers, lynched;
broken and oft in despair, but continued.
This is not happenstance, no, it can't be,
this is the plan/purpose that's just for me.
Some may glide inside their callings, whoopee.
Your smile shows just how nice this all can be. .
But, I'm rallying into another type of calling,
and its all I can do to keep from daily stalling.
Author notes
4. Someone once asked me:
"Why do you always insist on taking the hard road?"
And I replied: "Why do you assume I see two roads?"

This is a beautiful poem. The road you take is not a chosen road, but you take it despite hardships and despair. Although some may have very good experiences on their road, you consider this hard road the only right road for you. Very well done. I am impressed!
Anna.
