Creamy crime-rhyme and ampersand soup

A giggly gaggle of children chant
"Oh Witch, if there's not a grey glitch
or a gremlin, green and round,
broiling inside your bubbling black cauldron
what else, what else, is there to be found?
Pray please share the simmering secrets
of your pernickety personal recipe,
set the table and lay out many a plate
for if it's twice as nice as it smells
we'd so like to join you and have tea,
it's halloween, it'd be a scream dream date"

"Children"  warbles the Witch with a twitch
of her wiry whiskers and just the faintest
glimmer of a gross, grim grin,
"My recipe is a cackle and a caw-caw,
a jumping jack splatt and a jaw-jaw,
a tune from a lullaby by Mr.Moon,
a swerve of a curve from the lips of a lampoon,
and after tasting this calculated concoction
for your tea you won't be back for more-more
your insides will feel as if they are outside-in
and your bloated bellies will feel sore-sore!"

A witchety witch tale of wondrous words written with witches skill. We have never had much to do with holoween. We was too poor and in the wrong country.

a bit of a moral tale against overeating? Kids do that; heck, I do that. The witch probably just wants to have a bit of fun, and this piece is fun too.

This is wonderful! I only wish the kids around here were fluent enough in English that I could tell it at our annual Halloween party. My daughters will be delighted, though - thanks for whipping up this tasty batch!

I'll definitely take a step forward and say, "Yummmm."

This is perfect! I could see you writing a children's book in verse quite easily. Wonderful!
