The Pain of Letting Go

Sometimes… slitting the wrists and just letting it all fade to gray sounds to good…
Sometimes, taking that whole bottle would be the perfect release…

Sometimes... I want nothing more than to let everything go…

Sometimes, I remember what it was like with you…

Sometimes, how happy I was…

Sometimes, how perfect I felt…

And sometimes I remember why I ended up this way.

And why it is I can't ever seem to do anything right.

And why I let you leave…

Sometimes, I cant help but wonder what would you have done if  I stopped your leaving

Sometimes I wonder what would have made you stay for me

Sometimes I wish I would have said I needed you just a little bit longer than you liked.

Sometimes… I remember that dream

Sometimes… I remember your laugh

Sometimes… I remember your smile

And, sometimes, when those thoughts cross my mind, I remember why I let you go.

And, sometimes, I remember how happy I wanted you to be.

And, sometimes, I think of how sad I was to let you go.

Then I think of what you have become…

How great you are doing…

How perfect you are…

And I think,

I could never take

THAT

Away from you.

And your simple smile,

Makes my pain all worth while.

Author notes

'Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars – points of light and reason. And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.'

I, too, love the twilight series. They are amazing books and have provided me many inspirations. This is sort of a poem from Jacob's perspective, though I know that the quote is from Edward, But I started thinking about the line where he says that he couldn't see the stars no more, and well, Bella was Jacob's star too. I love that he could love Bella and yet, he did let her go. Too much emotion in those book. It rips my heart out with every twist in the plot. Lol. Well, anyway, I hope this is something you appreciate reading.

Always,
Sia
