elapsed is summer's breath
gliding against stagnant air,
invigoration becomes weak
leaning into pallid skies,
time slips into arms of autumn
less the radiance of vigor,
as seasons decline upon life
and youth sleeps eternal,
reminiscence of spring; past
delivers me unto peace,
as my journey drifts onward
into stillness of winter.

you chose absolutely stunning words to highlight this gorgeous poem. I particularly like, "Time slips into arms of Autumn..." although the entire piece is worth quoting. Thank you so very much for entering. Love, Lane

This had such a lilting feeling of surrendering into age and it's stillness... but doing so with serenity and peace!
